For me Happiness is that light feeling you get when you’re relaxed and free. It’s that sensation you get when your entire body resonates something that is deep inside of you.

Here are 7 timeless ways you can be happy:

1. Be Thankful

Showing gratitude and being thankful is a fundamental thing when it comes to being happy. No matter what situation you might be in, you have to always keep in perspective that you are lucky and you have many things that a lot of people in this world don’t have.

This simple act of taking a different perspective and reflecting on your life will make you a lot humbler and a lot happier.

2. Rest and Meditate

You can only be happy if your body is up to it. Sleep and rest are what keep you going and keep you functioning. Try to sleep an optimum amount per day and you will noticeably feel more chipper and happier.

Also throughout the day, try to put in a couple of mediation sessions; this doesn’t mean you need candles and a yoga mat. Simply close your eyes and try to clear your mind. This simple method will not just make you feel relaxed but it will kill stress.

3. Set Goals

Whenever you complete a goal, you experience happiness. That’s why rather than setting long huge goals try to set small achievable goals whenever you can. An example of short term goal can be anything, as long as you can achieve it in a couple days.

This goal setting will not just make you organized but it will also give you instant gratitude. Gratitude is what brings happiness.

4. Try to keep a Light Mood

Just as plants don’t grow in darkness, happiness doesn’t grow in stress. Always try to keep a light mood and don’t take stress for no reason. Don’t get angry or annoyed over every small thing and try calm down.

If you stay relaxed and fluid happiness will follow you.

5. Become  more Confident

Confidence is a returning theme in my articles because in my opinion it is the first step to anything. Confidence is your belief in yourself, so until you believe in yourself nothing will happen.

So if you really want to be happy, change your mindset and believe in yourself.

6. Stop Pleasing Everybody and Focus on What’s Important

It is impossible to make everybody around you happy; so stop doing it. Focus your attention on the people who matter and put the rest of your attention on productive things. This doesn’t mean you should ignore everybody.

This just means is that you should understand that it’s okay if someone is not happy with you all the time.

7. Smile and be Optimistic

Put all of your endeavors in a positive light. This will not just give you more hope but it will make the task or job you’re doing a lot easier.

Other than that try smile as much as possible, Smiling and Happiness are correlated, so one thing brings the other; by smiling you can actually become happier.
