Sometimes, when we’re depressed, we want to run and hide. We wish to swap places with some people to get rid of our own life. If this is how you feel right now, it is time for you to withdraw from the accusing game. By doing something about it, you can start a new life where you are now. A stagnant life will never help you progress. Overcome it, as if you are conquering an injury. You may think that you will never get up again because of something bad have occurred. Because of the bruise from that injury, you avoid going out. But choosing this route will make your life fade. Hit the restart button. It is like having a real injury. The only way to heal is to begin utilizing the injured part of your body again. And to regain happiness, you must start working on your goals again to achieve them.

Are you blaming yourself or taking responsibility?

They are two different things. Blaming is condemning someone’s failure, whether for a legitimate reason or not. When someone blamed you for something, accept the fact and look at the circumstances that caused that situation.

But when you accept responsibility for the wrong thing you did,  you can make amends and move on.

If you are going through a divorce, you must accept what you did and take responsibility for it. Did you cheat? Did not have time for your partner or kids? 

Clear your mind

If you are blaming yourself because of the mess you made, just stop. Silence the negative self-talk in your head. Clear your mind by taking a few deep breaths. Feel the warmth of your chest, hands, and feet.

Welcome, that feeling of home in your body. It can be your fortress where you can hide from the entire world. Traveling to the best places to live organic lifestyle will also help you clear your mind. These places will force you to adopt clean eating, which is good for your body and mind.

Start loving yourself

Do not be hard on yourself. Rather, start enjoying yourself. Focus on your positive traits. Never think that you do not have any positive because every person has good points. When you focus on them, you can start thinking about the many things that you can offer to the world, rather than focusing on blaming yourself for everything. 

After listing your positive attributes, you must begin focusing on them and find ways to improve these features and ensure that they become prominent in your life.

Avoid broken relationships

The people you are with are part of your routine. They are in your life because you let them be.

Unfortunately, not all of these people can bring happiness to your life. In fact, some of them will only bring you pain and failure. You must eliminate these people from your life.

You allow them to destroy you because you are afraid to get away from that relationship. You cannot have positive experiences until you get rid of these harmful people.

Let these small-minded people go. Your life is better spent seeking new people who can add value to your life.

Forgive yourself

Forgiveness is a powerful tool you can utilize to start a new life. Unfortunately, it is hard to offer someone your forgiveness. It is even harder if the one who needs forgiving is yourself.

You cannot move past a situation if you do not forgive. It will continue to haunt you. With that negative energy, you cannot move on as it will pull you down further.

But before you can forgive yourself, you must forgive other people first. When you start to forgive someone for the wrong thing he/she did, you will feel as if a huge weight has been taken off your shoulders.

Move on

Mistakes can happen with anyone. If you continue blaming yourself, you would be the saddest person in the world. Remember that such mistake occur. It is in the past, and there is nothing you can do to go back and change it.

But you can make amends. After that, the best thing you can do is to move on. Your life has to go on. Focus on the “now” and let the past stay in the past. But you need to learn from that mistake. In that way, you can avoid it from happening again.

Thinking of the past is like waking up in the morning, putting on a hideous fashion that belongs to an earlier decade. You need to live in the now. The only direction you must take is to move forward.

Get help

If you allowed yourself to be depressed and cannot stop blaming yourself, it might be time to get help. A good counselor can assist you in overcoming your thoughts that you have so that you can start loving yourself again. Counseling will help you move past the blame and start becoming happy with who you are.

All of us make mistakes. It will never help your situation if you always blame yourself. You can only learn from your mistakes but not go back to the past and change it. You should start living in the present, rather than dwelling on the past or even the future.
